Se você já conhece ou já visitou nossa igreja, você sabe que a Catedral Anglicana do Bom Samaritano (CABS), sede da Diocese Anglicana do Recife e parte da Igreja Episcopal Anglicana do Brasil, é uma comunidade acolhedora, inclusiva e comprometida com a mensagem de amor e justiça encarnada na vida e na mensagem de Jesus.
Infelizmente, a estrutura de nosso templo vem sofrendo, ao longo dos anos, com os efeitos da salinidade e do clima costeiro do bairro de Boa Viagem, com as fortes chuvas que atingem sazonalmente a cidade do Recife, com as construções de prédios altos na vizinhança e com a ampliação de vias e a intensificação do tráfico de veículos nas ruas ao redor.
Em junho de 2021, após um período de intensas chuvas na Cidade do Recife, parte do beiral externo da cobertura do templo desabou. A avaliação técnica, realizada por uma empresa de especializada, indicou que seria necessária uma grande obra de reforço da estrutura da cobertura, além de serviços de reparação e manutenção no piso, nas paredes e em outros detalhes do templo. O orçamento total das obras necessárias para a recuperação do templo é de R$ 378.000,00 (aproximadamente US$ 80.250,00).
Nem a comunidade da Catedral Anglicana do Bom Samaritano, nem a Diocese Anglicana do Recife dispõe dos recursos necessários para financiar esse projeto. Por isso, na confiança de poder contar com a solidariedade e a parceria de pessoas e instituições que acreditam nos mesmos valores que nós, decidimos lançar essa campanha de arrecadação de fundos.

Restoration of the Anglican Cathedral of the Good Samaritan - Recife/PE - Brazil
If you already know or have visited our church, you know that the Anglican Cathedral of the Good Samaritan (CABS), headquarter of the Anglican Diocese of Recife and part of the Anglican Episcopal Church of Brazil, is a welcoming, inclusive community committed to the message of love and justice embodied in the life and message of Jesus.
Unfortunately, the structure of our temple has suffered, over the years, from the effects of salinity and the coastal climate of the neighborhood of Boa Viagem, with the heavy rains that seasonally affect the city of Recife, with the construction of tall buildings in the neighborhood and with the expansion of roads and the intensification of vehicle traffic in the surrounding streets.
In June 2021, after a period of heavy rains in the City of Recife, part of the outer eaves of the temple's roof collapsed. The technical evaluation, carried out by a specialized company, indicated that a major work would be necessary to reinforce the roof structure, in addition to repair and maintenance services on the floor, walls and other details of the temple. The total budget for the works necessary for the restoration of the temple is R$ 378,000.00 (approximately US$ 80,250.00).
Neither the community of the Anglican Cathedral of the Good Samaritan nor the Anglican Diocese of Recife have the necessary resources to finance this project. Therefore, in the confidence of being able to count on the solidarity and partnership of people and institutions that believe in the same values as us, we decided to launch this fundraising campaign.
