DARLYANE VIANA (@darlyane_vsc), 23 years old, is my youngest sister. In 2007, she was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus. In 2017, she developed optic neuromyelitis. Two months ago, bilateral osteonecrosis was discovered in the head of her femur, leading her to be unable to attend classes (she is an 8th-semester undergraduate law student in Fortaleza/Ceara/Brazil) or the internship related to her studies. Even with some difficulty walking in these last months, she was bravely attending classes and having a social life. Her quality of life has decreased considerably. She is now bedridden, or in a wheelchair and totally dependent on care. I recently took her to three different orthopedists, two of them hip specialists. One of them indicated prosthetic replacement in both hips and added her in the public health system line for surgery. However, that line is long and will likely take years for her turn. We are concerned that when her turn does come that she may not have the health status to operate because of her two underlying diseases. Currently, both are controlled, but we do not know for how long. She is doing physical therapy and treating her unbearable pain with many medications.
Thus, we have organized a SOLIDARITY FUNDRAISING to raise money for her surgery. This amount includes the complete surgery, recovery expenses plus the rehabilitation process. We will be extremely grateful to anyone who can help donating any amount of money and/or sharing this post and praying for our dear Darly.
