🏹🌎 Meu nome é Kamatxi Ikpeng, sou cineasta indígena do povo Ikpeng, que habita o Território Indígena do Xingu. Como cineasta, contribuo para o fortalecimento da cultura tradicional Ikpeng, para a transmissão de conhecimento para as novas gerações, além de mostrar para o mundo a riqueza da nossa cultura e da nossa história. 

🏹🤝❤️Sou cineasta indígena e amo a minha profissão! Eu acredito na força da união e sei que juntos conseguimos fazer a diferença! 

Recentemente, um dos meus equipamentos foi perdido. Criei este financiamento coletivo para tentar repor o equipamento que garante a continuidade do meu trabalho. Além de idealizar e produzir os filmes, também acredito na importância do meu trabalho para incentivar as crianças e jovens da aldeia, assim como fui incentivado no passado pelo trabalho de Kumaré, Karané e Natuyu. 

Minha história:

🌱📽️ Meu primeiro contato com audiovisual foi quando ainda era criança. Eu participei do filme “Marangmotxíngmo Mïrang: das crianças Ikpeng para o mundo”, produzido pelos primeiros cineastas indígenas do meu povo: Kumaré, Karané e Natuyu. Ver meus parentes trabalhando foi o grande incentivo para que eu também me formasse como cineasta indígena e quisesse fazer parte da documentação e valorização da história e da cultura do meu povo. 

Com a ajuda de parceiros (como o projeto Vídeo nas Aldeias e o Instituto Catitu),  eu pude aprofundar meus conhecimentos em audiovisual e colocar minhas ideias em prática, transmitindo para a tela a minha forma de ver o mundo.

🎞️ 🐜 Daquela época até os dias de hoje, meu povo já conseguiu realizar muitos projetos audiovisuais e compartilhar com parentes de outras regiões do Brasil e com os não-indígenas um pouco sobre a nossa história e os nossos modos de vida. Um desses filmes, que convido vocês a conhecerem, é o “Yarang Manin”, sobre as mulheres Ikpeng coletoras de sementes nativas e o importante papel que elas têm para nosso povo e nossa comunidade. E também o filme “Para onde foram as andorinhas”, que conta um pouco sobre o impacto das mudanças climáticas nas vidas de todos os seres em nossos territórios indígenas.

Support indigenous filmmaker

🏹🌎 My name is Kamatxi Ikpeng, I am an indigenous filmmaker from the Ikpeng people, who lives in the Xingu Indigenous Territory. As a filmmaker, I contribute to the strengthening (talvez empowerment ?) of traditional Ikpeng culture, to the transmission of our knowledge to the new generations, as well as showing the world the richness of our culture and history.

🏹🤝❤️I'm an indigenous filmmaker and I love being a filmmaker! I believe in the strength of collective action and that, together, we can make a difference!

Recently, I lost one of my filming equipments. This crowdfunding was created to try to replace it and so being able to continue my work. I write and produce my own films and I do believe in the importance that my work can have as an example to children and young generations from my community, as I have been in the past thanks to the work of other filmmakers who have come before me such as Kumaré, Krané and Natuyu.

My journey

🌱📽️My first contact with audiovisual happened when I was still a child. I participated in the film “Marangmotxíngmo Mïrang: from Ikpeng children to the world”, produced by the first indigenous filmmakers of my people: Kumaré, Karané and Natuyu. Seeing my relatives working was the great incentive for me to also train as an indigenous filmmaker and to want to be part of the documentation and appreciation of the history and culture of my people.

With the support of cultural projects such as “Video nas Aldeias” (Video in the Villages) and institutions such as Instituto Catitu I was able to go further and improve my knowledge in the audiovisual field and with that to bring my ideas to life and my vision of the world into the screen.

🎞️ 🐜 Since then, my people have managed to carry out many audiovisual projects and to share a little about our history and our ways of life with relatives from other regions of Brazil and with non-indigenous people. One of these films, which I invite you to check out, is “Yarang Manin”, about Ikpeng women who are native seeds collectors and the important role they play among our people and our community. There's also "Para onde foram as andorinhas" (Where did the swallows go), which tells a little about the impact of climate change on the lives of all beings in our indigenous territories.

My dream is to keep on my audiovisual work and to contribute with the appreciation of traditional indigenous culture in Brazil. I count on your support to make that dream come true .
