Help Fernando to study Sciences of Sport at St Mary's, in London!

Hello, everyone! I want to share my story with all of you. My name is Fernando Pinheiro de Moura Filho, I am from Natal, Brazil, and I was born with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, which means I have been completely deaf since birth.

Throughout my life, I have never let my hearing impairment hold me back. In fact, it has fueled my determination to excel in both sports and education. I have been fortunate enough to attend some of the best schools in Rio Grande do Norte, thanks to scholarships that have supported my studies. My passion for sports has driven me to achieve incredible heights, becoming the youth champion of Copa Fla Nordeste and Copa Fla Brasil. It was an honor to be invited to train and undergo trials for Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, a dream come true for any aspiring football player. I had the honor to train with Luiz Carlos Scala, the grandson of Scala, who played with our Pelé in the main Brazilian football team.

I have also embarked on a meaningful project called "A Vida de um Surdo que Ouve" (The Life of a Deaf Person Who Hears). Through this project, I share my personal experiences as a person with a hearing impairment and how I have managed to make a difference in my own life. It brings me great joy to know that my story has become a source of inspiration for the deaf community, not only in Rio Grande do Norte but throughout Brazil. I have worked hard to master complete oralization and even taught myself English, a challenging feat for someone with my diagnosis.

And now, here comes the most exciting part of my life. I have been accepted into a prestigious university in London to study Football as part of a joint program with Chelsea FC, one of the world's most renowned football clubs. This university has a rich Olympic heritage and regularly sends athletes and coaches to participate in the Olympic Games every four years. It's an incredible opportunity for me to pursue my passion for football while receiving a top-notch education.

However, I face a significant challenge. As a Brazilian student, scholarships for international institutions are limited, and funding my education abroad is a major hurdle. That's why I'm reaching out to all of you.
