A UFPA VAI REPRESENTAR O BRASIL NA MAIOR SIMULAÇÃO JURÍDICA DO MUNDO E PRECISA DO SEU APOIO!

A equipe da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA) conquistou uma classificação histórica para a Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, a maior simulação jurídica do mundo, que ocorrerá entre 28 de março e 4 de abril de 2026, em Washington, D.C. (EUA).

A Jessup simula julgamentos perante a Corte Internacional de Justiça, principal órgão judicial da ONU, e desafia estudantes a enfrentar, com excelência técnica e argumentativa, temas centrais da agenda global, como direitos humanos, extradição, jurisdição internacional, meio ambiente e povos originários, áreas diretamente conectadas aos desafios enfrentados pelo Brasil no cenário internacional.

Em fevereiro de 2026, a equipe dos estudantes de Direito da Universidade Federal do Pará participou, pelo segundo ano consecutivo, da fase nacional da Jessup Brazil, competindo contra discentes de outras instituições nacionais. Esta etapa foi sediada na Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.

Após vencer várias rodadas, algumas contra universidades renomadas, a equipe da UFPA garantiu a sua vaga na etapa internacional. Assim, entrou para os anais da história da competição. A equipe da UFPA tornou-se a primeira do Norte do Brasil a representar o país na competição internacional, que reúne mais de 100 países e 700 universidades em Washington, d.C., nos Estados Unidos.

Essa conquista, no entanto, só poderá se concretizar com apoio financeiro.

A participação na etapa internacional envolve custos elevados, passagens internacionais, hospedagem, alimentação e taxas da competição, valores que ultrapassam as possibilidades financeiras dos estudantes.

Por isso, criamos esta vakinha para viabilizar a presença da equipe da UFPA nos Estados Unido, para consagrar este feito histórico. E precisamos da sua ajuda!

O time é formado por estudantes da Faculade de Direito da UFPA e integra o projeto de extensão Núcleo de Moot Courts, orientado pelos professores Dr. Rodrigo Céspedes e Dra. Mariana de Matos.

UFPA WILL REPRESENT BRAZIL IN THE WORLD’S LARGEST LEGAL SIMULATION AND NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!

The team from the Faculty of Law of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) achieved a historic qualification for the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the largest legal simulation in the world, which will take place from March 28 to April 4, 2026, in Washington, D.C. (USA).

The Jessup simulates proceedings before the International Court of Justice, the main judicial organ of the United Nations, and challenges students to address, with technical and argumentative excellence, central issues on the global agenda, such as human rights, extradition, international jurisdiction, environmental protection, and Indigenous peoples’ rights—areas directly connected to the challenges Brazil faces in the international arena.

In February 2026, the team of law students from the Federal University of Pará participated, for the second consecutive year, in the national phase of Jessup Brazil, competing against students from other national institutions. This stage was hosted by the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo.

After winning several rounds, some against renowned universities, the UFPA team secured its place in the international stage. Thus, it entered the annals of the competition's history. The UFPA team became the first in northern Brazil to represent the country in the international competition, which brings together more than 100 countries and 700 universities in Washington, D.C., in the United States.

This achievement, however, can only be fully realized with financial support.

Participation in the international stage involves significant costs, including international airfare, accommodation, meals, and competition fees—expenses that exceed the financial capacity of the students.

For this reason, we created this fundraising campaign to make the UFPA team’s participation in the United States possible and to bring this historic achievement to fruition. We need your support.

The team is composed of students from the Faculty of Law at UFPA and is part of the Moot Courts Extension Project, supervised by Professors Dr. Rodrigo Céspedes and Dr. Mariana de Matos.
