CAPIXABA EM LONDRES - AJUDE 1 JOVEM BAILARINO

Prezados amigos da arte, ballet e da filantropia,

Com o coração transbordando de emoção, escrevo esta carta na esperança de contar com a generosidade de todos vocês para nos ajudar a realizar o sonho do jovem talentoso Luis Felipe Machado, que poderá  representar os capixabas no Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition em Londres, entre agosto e setembro de 2025. Permitam-me compartilhar um pouco da jornada desse guerreiro bailarino, uma jornada repleta de paixão, dedicação e sonhos.

Meu nome é Liviane Pimenta, sou professora de Ballet Clássico e diretora, formada pela Royal Academy of Dance. No entanto, hoje não venho falar de mim, mas sim dos meu amado aluno: Luis Felipe. Para nós e toda a equipe envolvida, o ballet não é apenas uma arte, é uma paixão que permeia cada fibra do nosso ser. Desde muito pequeno, Luis trilha um caminho dedicado à dança, cultura e educação, guiados pela inspiração e com o apoio incondicional de sua mãe Ruthléia, minha orientação como mentora e professora, além da dedicação de nossa equipe de profissionais.

A dança para nós não é apenas movimento, é a expressão da nossa alma. Fomos abençoados com o reconhecimento do público, conquistando mais de 5000 prêmios, entre medalhas, troféus e bolsas. Passar em todos os exames da Royal Academy of Dance, com a presença de uma examinadora internacional, é um reconhecimento do nosso trabalho e dedicação, algo que poucos alcançaram no Espírito Santo, e como homem na dança, Luis também é um dos poucos que conseguiram chegar no último grau da formação em  Ballet Clássico.

Atualmente Luis Felipe está no último grau da formação, o Advanced 2, como bailarino certificado pela Royal Academy of Dance em mais de  80 países. Para essa etapa tão especial e única, ele precisa investir em aulas, taxas de inscrição, uniformes, além de passarem pelo exame e alcançarem a nota máxima de Distinction, a fim de ter a chance de participar do MARGOT FONTEYN INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION em Londres. Neste evento, onde alguns diretores das maiores companhias do mundo estão presentes, eles terão a oportunidade de ganhar bolsas e contratos como bailarinos profissionais.

Ao longo dos anos, participamos de festivais renomados em todo o Brasil, como em Fortaleza (Ceará), Goiás, Roraima, Brasília, Joinville (Santa Catarina), Rio de Janeiro, RAD Summer School em São Paulo e diversas cidades do Espírito Santo. Nessas ocasiões, fomos honrados com prêmios e bolsas que reconheceram nosso esforço e talento, incluindo medalhas e troféus de 1º, 2º e 3º lugares. Em 2021 Luis Felipe foi promovido a primeiro bailarino da PIMENTA CIA JOVEM DE DANÇA durante o Quebra Nozes Capixaba, interpretando o papel principal O QUEBRA NOZES CAPIXABA.

Além de brilhar nos palcos, nossa paixão pela dança nos levou a realizar espetáculos beneficentes para mais de 20 mil pessoas, como o O QUEBRA NOZES CAPIXABA em 2021, 2022 e 2023, arrecadando aproximadamente 20 toneladas de alimentos para instituições de caridade e famílias em vulnerabilidade social.

Contudo, enfrentamos o desafio das limitações financeiras. Apesar do amor e apoio dos pais, eles não possuem os recursos necessários para sustentar as demandas de um treinamento de alto nível e os custos da viagem para Londres.

Agora, diante da única oportunidade na vida de participar do Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition (pois só é permitido até os 19 anos), um evento que representa o ápice dos nossos sonhos, pedimos humildemente a sua ajuda.

Minha família, a equipe da PIMENTA DANCE e eu estamos unindo esforços para viabilizar a ida de Luis Felipe para Londres em 30 de agosto de 2025.

Desejamos ardentemete representar não apenas a nós mesmos, mas também nossa terra natal, o Espírito Santo, e inspirar mais jovens a não desistirem de seus sonhos.

Com cada fibra do nosso ser, ansiamos pela chance de sermos os primeiros capixabas a participar deste prestigioso evento, marcando o início de uma carreira internacional que sonhamos desde os primeiros passos na barra da Pimenta Dance.

O primeiro grande desafio está no custo da passagem aérea de ida e volta de Vitória, no estado do Espírito Santo, até Londres. Estamos buscando as opções mais econômicas, porém, ainda assim, o valor estimado é de aproximadamente R$ 12.000,00 para os 2.

Além disso, ao chegar em Londres, precisamos garantir a alimentação durante pelo menos 10 dias entre a viagem e a competição. Estamos procurando por alternativas mais acessíveis, mas considerando a alta do câmbio, estimo que serão necessários cerca de R$ 7.500,00.

Em relação à hospedagem, estamos em busca de opções mais em conta, preferencialmente próximas ao His Majesty's Theatre, local onde o evento será realizado. Estimo que o custo total para hospedagem durante esse período seja de aproximadamente R$ 10.500,00.

Por último, mas não menos importante, há os gastos com o transporte entre o hotel e o His Majesty's Theatre. Estamos pesquisando opções de transporte público ou compartilhado para reduzir os custos, mas ainda assim estimo que serão necessários cerca de R$ 3.000,00 para locomoção durante esses dias de intensas atividades.

Ao somar todos esses custos, juntamente com os extras como despacho de bagagem, figurinos, ensaios de solos e variações, e a obtenção do passaporte necessário para a viagem internacional, estimo que precisaremos de aproximadamente R$ 77.000,00 para participar do Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition em Londres. Antes dessa etapa, temos o Exame do Advanced 2 em outubro de 2024, com um custo estimado de R$ 5.000,00.

Caso Luis Felipe receba bolsas ou contratos, ele precisa ficar no mínimo mais 3 meses em Londres ou na cidade da cia que convidou-os, e esse custo também é alto.

É um valor expressivo para nossas famílias, mas isso não pode ser impeditivo para realização de um sonho que dura a vida toda. 

Por favor, considere nosso pedido não apenas como uma solicitação, mas como a voz de desse jovem bailarino que dedica cada dia ao aprimoramento da sua arte, buscando levar a beleza e a emoção da dança a todos que têm a oportunidade de testemunhar.

Dear friends of art, ballet, and philanthropy,

With a heart full of emotion, I write this letter in the hope of receiving the opportunity to represent the people of Espírito Santo at the Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition in London in July/August 2024 and fulfill the dreams of these dedicated young dancers. Allow me to share a bit of the journey of these warrior ballet dancers, a journey filled with passion, dedication, and dreams.

My name is Liviane Pimenta, I am a Classical Ballet teacher and director, trained by the Royal Academy of Dance. I am not the focus here, but rather my beloved students Bianca Bernardo and Luis Felipe Machado. For us and our entire team of professionals, ballet is not just an art; it is a passion that permeates every fiber of our being. Since a very young age, these two have been on a path dedicated to dance, culture, and education, guided by inspiration and with the unconditional support of their loving parents, my guidance as their mentor and teacher, and the dedication of our team of teachers and administrative staff.

Dance is not just movement for us; it is an expression of our soul. We have been blessed with recognition from the public, having won over 100 awards including medals, trophies, and scholarships. Passing all exams of the Royal Academy of Dance, with an international examiner present, is a recognition of all our hard work and dedication, something that few achieve in Espírito Santo.

Now Bianca and Luis Felipe are in the final grade of their training: Advanced 2, as dancers certified by the century-old institution: Royal Academy of Dance, with certification valid in over 100 countries. For this special and unique training, they need to invest in classes, registration fees, uniforms, and they must pass an exam, achieving the highest mark of Distinction, to have the opportunity to participate in the MARGOT FONTEYN INTERNATIONAL BALLET COMPETITION in London. In this festival where directors of the world's major dance companies are present, they will have the chance to win scholarships and contracts as professional dancers.

Throughout the years, we have participated in numerous renowned festivals across Brazil: Fortaleza - Ceará, Goiás, Roraima, Brasília, Joinville - Santa Catarina, Rio de Janeiro, RAD Summer School in São Paulo, and many cities in Espírito Santo, where we were honored with awards and scholarships recognizing our effort and talent, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals and trophies. In 2021, Bianca and Luis passed the Royal exam at the Advanced 1 level, and now they only need the Advanced 2, for which they need daily classes and rehearsals, mentoring with an international examiner, variation repertoire classes, pas de deux techniques, nutritionist consultations, pilates classes, and much more, in addition to the costs of travel, accommodation, and meals in London.

Both have shone in various performances, including in 2021 when they were promoted to principal dancers of the PIMENTA CIA JOVEM DE DANÇA during the Capixaba Nutcracker, performing leading roles in Waltz of the Flowers, Snowflakes, Arabian Coffee, Bianca performing the Sugar Plum Fairy Pas de Deux, and Luis Felipe not only in the Trepak and Moorish Doll but also as the lead artist in THE NUTCRACKER, the first black dancer in ES in this role.

Our love for dance is such that most of our shows are charitable, and we always aim to bring our joy to thousands of people. With all our hearts, we presented THE CAPIXABA NUTCRACKER to more than 20,000 people in 2021, 2022, and 2023, helping to collect approximately 20 tons of food donated to charities and families in social vulnerability.

However, we face the challenge of financial limitations. Despite the love and support of their parents, they do not have the necessary resources to sustain the demands of high-level training and the costs of the trip to London.

Now, facing the only opportunity in their lives to participate in the Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition (as it is only allowed until the age of 18, and both are in this age group), an event that represents the culmination of our dreams, we humbly ask for your help.

My dear family and my mentor and director Liviane Pimenta RAD RTS are joining forces to make it possible for the two to go to London on July 30, 2024.

We ardently wish to represent not only themselves but also our homeland, Espírito Santo, and inspire more young people to never give up on their dreams.

With every fiber of our beings, we yearn for the chance to be the first Capixabas to participate in this prestigious event, marking the beginning of an international career that we have dreamed of since the first steps at Pimenta Dance.

The first and significant challenge lies in the cost of round-trip airfare from Vitória, Espírito Santo, to London. We are seeking the most economical options, but still, the estimated cost is approximately R$ 24,000.00 for each of them.

Additionally, upon arrival in London, we need to ensure food for at least the 10 days between the trip and the competition. We are looking for more affordable alternatives, but considering the exchange rate, I estimate that we will need about R$ 7,500.00.

Regarding accommodation, we are looking for cheaper options, preferably close to His Majesty's Theatre, where the event will take place. I estimate that the total cost for accommodation during this period will be approximately R$ 10,500.00.

Lastly, but not less important, are the costs of transportation between the hotel and His Majesty's Theatre. We are researching public or shared transportation options to reduce costs, but I still estimate that we will need about R$ 3,000.00 for transportation during these days of intense activities.

When adding all these costs, along with extras like baggage check-in, costumes, solo and variation rehearsals, and obtaining the necessary passport for international travel, I estimate that we will need approximately R$ 77,000.00 to participate in the Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition in London. Before this step, we have the Advanced 2 exam in April/May 2024, which we estimate will cost around R$ 5,000.00.

In case they receive scholarships or contracts, they will need to stay at least an additional 3 months in London or the city where they receive the scholarship, and this cost is also high.

It is a significant amount for our families, but it represents the realization of a dream that we have pursued our entire lives.

Please consider our request not only as a solicitation but as the voice of two young dancers who dedicate each day to improving their art, seeking to bring the beauty and emotion of dance to all who have the opportunity to witness it.
