Em 2021 recebi uma bolsa de estudos para integrar o programa internacional de Pós graduação Fabricademy pela Dassault Systèmes e Solid Works, sendo uma das primeiras brasileiras a representar o país com bolsa de estudos no programa.

Hi! My name is Brunna, I'm a designer, artist and researcher based in Curitiba-PR.
In 2021 I received a scholarship to integrate the international Postgraduate program Fabricademy by Dassault Systèmes and Solid Works, being one of the first Brazilians to represent the country with a scholarship in the program.

Então para meu projeto de conclusão de curso, realizei a instalação Batidas da água. O contato com o ambiente internacional, ainda que online, fez com que eu refletisse sobre meu lugar enquanto designer. Estar imersa nesse ambiente fez com que minha subjetividade e as diversas questões do Brasil se tornassem fonte de inspiração. Portanto, no trabalho decidi contar a história da água no país.

So for my final project, I made the installation Batidas da Água. The contact with the international environment, even online, made me reflect on my place as a designer. Being immersed in this environment made my subjectivity and the various issues in Brazil become a source of inspiration. Therefore, at work I decided to tell the story of water in the country.

A obra traz o reflexo da água como extensão de nós mesmos através de um torso feito de papel de resíduo têxtil de algodão com o registro das 12 regiões hidrográficas brasileiras. Durante o ato, o mapa se dissolve lentamente em biotintas armazenadas em bolsas de soro hospitalar, representando os problemas ao redor da questão e minhas frustrações internas. Uma hidrografia que chora e sangra ao adoecer em meio à colonização e ao extrativismo. A peça possui uma estrutura robótica interna macia que infla no tempo de batimentos cardíacos bombeada em pneumática programada por Arduino. As águas brasileiras respiram por aparelhos. Fios sustentam a peça durante o ato. Nossas águas estão por um fio e continuam resistindo graças aos povos indígenas, comunidades ribeirinhas e ativistas ambientais. Por fim, um espelho reflete toda a cena, fazendo referência a subjetividade de quem assiste à instalação.

The work brings the reflection of water as an extension of ourselves through a torso made of cotton textile waste paper with the registration of the 12 Brazilian hydrographic regions. During the act, the map slowly dissolves into bio-inks stored in hospitalar bags, representing the issues surrounding the issue and my inner frustrations. A hydrography that cries and bleeds when it gets sick in the midst of colonization and extractivism. The piece has a soft internal robotic structure that inflates in the time of heartbeats pumped in pneumatics programmed by Arduino. Brazilian waters breathe through devices. Threads support the piece during the act. Our waters hang by a thread and continue to resist thanks to indigenous peoples, riverside communities and environmental activists. Finally, a mirror reflects the entire scene, referring to the subjectivity of those watching the installation.
A formatura do programa acontecerá em Bali, na Indonésia, durante os dias 12 a 22 de outubro deste ano, no evento Bali Fab Fest, onde os membros dos mais de 2.000 Fab Labs em todo o mundo se reúnem para compartilhar, discutir, colaborar e criar comunidades em torno dos diferentes interesses locais e globais em relação à fabricação digital, inovação e tecnologia. E tem ênfase no projeto de realidades emergentes. Durante o evento, workshops paralelos acontecem nos campos de inovação e fui uma das selecionadas, junto a Angela Barbour e Iane Cabral para ministrar um workshop de biomateriais.

Como sou formanda, o evento sairá de graça. No entanto, preciso de ajuda para custear as passagens e estadia no país. Assim, conto com a sua ajuda para me ajudar a representar o Brasil em um dos maiores eventos de Fabricação Digital do mundo!
Meu repertório de trabalho sempre permeou o pensar em futuros preferíveis e sustentáveis. Assim, integrei o grupo de Pesquisa DeSIn - UEL, com bolsa de pesquisa do CNPQ e Fundação Araucária, para pensar a inclusão e logística reversa dos têxteis nas coletas seletivas para logística reversa.

The program's graduation will take place in Bali, Indonesia, from October 12 to 22 this year at the Bali Fab Fest event, where members of more than 2,000 Fab Labs around the world come together to share, discuss, collaborate and create communities around different local and global interests in relation to digital fabrication, innovation and technology. And has has emphasis on designing emerging realities. During the event, parallel workshops take place in the fields of innovation and I was one of those selected, along with Angela Barbour and Iane Cabral, to give a workshop on biomaterials.

As I'am graduating, the event will be free. However, I need help to pay for the tickets and stay in the country. So, I'm counting on your help to help me represent Brazil in one of the biggest Digital Fabrication events in the world!
My work repertoire has always permeated thinking about preferable and sustainable futures. So, I joined the DeSIn Research group - UEL, with a research grant from CNPQ and Fundação Araucária, to think about the inclusion and reverse logistics of textiles in selective collections for reverse logistics.
Com esta pesquisa conseguiu o primeiro lugar nacional (Brasil) e o segundo lugar internacional no Lens Student Design Competition 2018 com outra colega (Catalogo aqui: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oA07RI_IFyrbFUycl3H_YF4XcCnMpAnh/view).

The following year (2019), I was one of the 15 finalists of the Leroy Merlin Circular Economy Contest in partnership with Instituto Tomie-Ohtake-SP (catalogue here: https://premiodesign.institutotomieohtake.org.br/catalogo-2-premio-de-design-instituto-tomie-ohtake/)
Foi no meu Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso e último projeto de graduação em Design de Moda pela UEL que eu entrei em contato com os ambientes de Fab Labs. Ao buscar novos entendimentos sistêmicos sobre as relações produtivas para a transição para a sustentabilidade, me deparei com as promessas disruptivas e incertas da Indústria de Vestuário 4.0 e a falta dessas questões no ambiente da Educação. Assim, me mudei para a capital do meu estado (Curitiba-Paraná) inspirada a explorar na prática os conceitos de produção distribuída e manufatura digital, para tentar entender “Como os Fab Labs podem ser espaços mediadores entre o ensino de Design de Moda para a sustentabilidade e o cenário da Indústria 4.0?”.

It was in my Final Course Work and last graduation project in Fashion Design at UEL that I came into contact with Fab Labs environments. In seeking new systemic understandings of productive relationships for the transition to sustainability, I came across the disruptive and uncertain promises of the Apparel Industry 4.0 and the lack of these issues in the Education environment. So, I moved to the capital of my state (Curitiba-Paraná) inspired to explore in practice the concepts of distributed production and digital manufacturing, to try to understand “How Fab Labs can be mediating spaces between the teaching of Fashion Design for the sustainability and the Industry 4.0 scenario?”.
O trabalho resultou em uma mini coleção inspirada nos recifes de coral brasileiros, todos produzidos no Fab Lab da Prefeitura Municipal de Curitiba. Os produtos tiveram a aplicação de Corte a Laser e Impressão 3D aliada a requisitos de sustentabilidade considerando o Ciclo de Vida do Produto, como modelagem Zero Waste, design modular e pensamento de desmontagem. Fizemos o editorial no estilo 'caseiro', durante a quarentena da pandemia.

The work resulted in a mini collection inspired by Brazilian coral reefs, all produced in the Curitiba's Fab Lab. The products had the application of Laser Cutting and 3D Printing combined with sustainability requirements considering the Product Life Cycle, such as Zero Waste modeling, modular design and disassembly thinking. We did the editorial in the 'homemade' style, during the quarantine of the pandemic.
