Hey, guys! It's me: Nova, the edgy Karate guy, your Tekken buddy.
As some of you are aware, I am not able to play Tekken 8. The reason being I don't have a next-gen console nor a gaming PC, both of which are extremely expensive in my country due to ridiculously abusive and apocalyptical taxes. For perspective: acquiring a PS5 in this country would take entire 4 months worth of work from a minimum wage worker, for example.
Since my earnings are saved or directed to family stuff, acquiring a next-gen console is just not feasible for the time being: it might take QUITE a while for me to be able to play T8.
Facing this reality, I've been doing what I can in order to provide quality content for the next generation of Tekken without having actual access to the game, but this is clearly not sustainable, since I can't keep bothering close friends to keep providing me footage time and time and time again.
Some followers then asked me to create a crowdfunding campaign, of which I was very hesitant on doing, which I then explained my reasoning.
The reason I did not consider doing this at first is because I already contributed in funding campaigns in the past and I always felt like such campaigns should exist to address things in the level of heroic deeds (man breaks into a house on fire, saved 3 kids and got hospitalized for inhaling too much CO), accidents, health conditions and so on.
Receiving donations to be able to play a next-gen game just felt frivolous and wrong to me compared to more urgent donation campaigns.
Even so, turns out more and more followers and enthusiasts of the channel kept asking me again and again to create a funding campaign, so… even though I hesitated, here we stand.
Unfortunately, the suggested sites like Gofundme do not operate in my country, so that is why I created the campaign on this national site.
This service charges a 6.4% fee for every donation and a fixed R$0,50 fee for every donation, and it's still the most reasonable crowdfunding site available: the others happen to charge much, much more.
My main concern is that the benefactor only donates amounts that are very insignificant according to his/her own circumstances. I don't intend and I don't want to be a financial burden for anyone, I didn't want to create this campaign at first and if you are in a bad economic environment, don't EVER consider donating: save your bucks for things that matter the most.
Please: do NOT donate big amounts. If you are willing to donate big amounts, just donate a small amount and contribute to something even more urgent/significant instead. :P
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be an option to limit the donation amounts, so it's up to the benefactor to decide.
I am VERY GRATEFUL to all the people who appreciate my Tekken content to the point of suggesting a donation campaign and being willing to contribute: I never even considered that a hobbyist channel would be receiving this level of appreciation.
If you ever contribute, whatever the amount, let it be known that I am very grateful and I will keep doing my best.
Thank you all for this, guys. For real. You guys are the best.
