Juntos pela Visão da Alicia

Nossa princesinha nasceu com uma má formação rara e muito grave nas estruturas do segmento anterior do dois olhinhos (Córnea, cristalino e íris) associado a um glaucoma secundário. Iniciamos então uma busca pelo melhor tratamento possível para que ela tenha o melhor prognóstico e consiga enxergar o máximo possível e ter uma vida normal.

No primeiro mês de vida ela passou por várias cirurgias nos dois olhinhos (cirurgia de transplante de córnea, catarata e implante de tubo para controle da pressão intraocular). A Alicia está hoje com 6 meses e até o momento já realizou 3 cirurgias no olho direito e 5 no olho esquerdo, sem contar os frequentes exames sob narcose realizados sob anestesia, todos realizados no Hospital Albert Einstein em São Paulo.

Infelizmente a Alicia está tendo complicações na retina que descolou e agora estamos na luta para tratar estes descolamentos. Os dois olhinhos desenvolveram uma membrana inflamatória após as primeiras cirurgias, e no caso do olhinho esquerdo esta membrana traciona a retina e então causa o descolamento. Esta complicação na retina é bem delicada e o único tratamento é cirúrgico mas as cirurgias na retina podem trazer riscos à córnea e ao glaucoma o que gera uma incerteza com relação à quantas cirurgias ainda precisarão ser realizadas.

Nas primeiras cirurgias fomos abençoados com doações de parentes e amigos mas ainda ficou faltando um valor considerável para quitarmos todas despesas iniciais. O tratamento da Alicia é de longa duração e os gastos são muito altos, por este motivo estamos solicitando sua ajuda. Fizemos uma projeção dos gastos que ainda serão necessários para o tratamento e o valor total incluindo equipe médica, sessões de estimulação visual, exames, cirurgias, e outros chega a aproximadamente R$320.000,00.

Até aqui Deus tem nos mantido fortes para lutarmos pela visão da Alicia e temos fé em Deus que tudo dará certo e acreditamos que Deus fará um milagre na vida da nossa princesinha.

Our little princess was born with a rare and very serious malformation in the structures of the anterior segment of the both eyes (cornea, crystalline and iris) associated with a secondary glaucoma. We then start looking for the best treatment so that she can have the best prognosis to improve her vision as much as possible and to live a normal life.

In the first month of her life she was submitted to several surgeries in the both eyes (corneal transplant surgery, cataract surgery and tube implant for intraocular pressure control). Alicia is now six months old and so far she was submitted to 3 surgeries in the right eye and 5 surgeries in the left eye, not counting regular narcosis exams performed under anesthesia, all performed at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo, Brazil.

Unfortunately, Alicia had complications in the retina (retinal detachment) and we are fighting against these complications. Both her eyes developed an inflammatory membrane after the first surgeries, and in the case of the left eye this membrane caused a traction on the retina which then triggered the detachment. This complication in the retina is very delicate and the only treatment is surgery but the surgeries to the retina can bring risks to the cornea and glaucoma, which creates uncertainty about how many surgeries still need to be performed.

In the first surgeries, we were blessed with donations from relatives and friends, but we still have a significant amount to pay off those initial expenses. Alicia's treatment is long term and the expenses are very high, this is the reason we are asking your help. A projection was made of future expenses that will be necessary for her treatment and the total amount including medical staff, sessions of visual stimulation therapy, exams, surgeries, and others expenses to approximately 106,000 USD.
